Running this on a refuse hauler that stays in the field all day, does this coil hold up to that kind of continuous use or does it need rest cycles?

Continuous duty is built right into this coil, so all-day operation on a refuse hauler is exactly what it's rated for. No need to worry about cycling it off to let it cool down between runs. That's one of the reasons it gets spec'd into mobile equipment that runs hard from sunup to sundown.
