DANFOSS / EATON-3.80 CID (62 CC) (420)

Description & Features

Designed for demanding mobile hydraulic applications, the Danfoss / Eaton X20 420 Series open circuit piston pump delivers 3.80 CID (62 cc) displacement with high pressure and flow capacity suited to heavy-duty duty cycles. With a product width of 5.75 inches, this unit is built for integration into space-constrained mobile platforms where reliable hydraulic output is critical.

The 420 Series is well matched to a broad range of mobile equipment, including loader backhoes, agriculture tractors, crawler dozers, mini excavators, concrete and asphalt pavers, material handling trucks, rough terrain forklifts, vibratory cable plows, and container handling equipment. Mining machinery, tunnel boring equipment, railroad equipment, and utility boom trucks are also common applications. Advanced control options support efficiency across variable-demand systems, and the pump's response and recovery characteristics make it a practical fit for equipment subject to frequent load changes.

Question by: Lynn O on Oct 14, 2025, 12:26 PM
Got a mini excavator that's been eating pumps, been running a different brand and just tired of the downtime. This 420 series, how's it hold up on equipment that's constantly loading and unloading through the day?
Answer by: Customer Support on Oct 16, 2025, 6:03 AM
Frequent load changes are actually where this pump tends to shine. The X20 420 Series is built around fast response and recovery, which is exactly what you need on a machine that's cycling hard all day. Mini excavators are one of the listed applications for this unit, so you're not pushing it into territory it wasn't intended for. The 3.80 CID displacement and high pressure and flow capacity back up the kind of continuous demand that comes with that type of work.

Reckon this'll work alright on my tractor loader backhoe?

It's well-matched for loader backhoes, along with agriculture tractors and other mobile equipment.
