DANFOSS / EATON 4.88 CID PUMP

Description & Features

Designed for demanding mobile hydraulic applications, the Danfoss Power Solutions X20 420 Series is an open circuit piston pump with a 4.88 CID displacement, suited for high-pressure, high-flow requirements across a wide range of equipment types. With a product width of 5.75 inches, it is engineered for mobile platforms where compact dimensions and reliable output are both critical.

The Danfoss / Eaton 4.88 CID Pump is well matched to equipment including loader backhoes, crawler dozers, mini excavators, articulated haulers, concrete and asphalt pavers, and feller/bunchers, among others. It also sees use in railroad equipment, container handling machinery, utility boom trucks, and vibratory cable plows, reflecting its versatility across mobile and off-road applications.

Advanced control options support efficient system integration, and the pump's response and recovery characteristics make it a practical choice where hydraulic demand varies rapidly during duty cycles.

Question by: Lance B on Dec 4, 2025, 4:05 PM
What kind of equipment is this pump actually built for? Got a crawler dozer and a mini excavator on the same job site and trying to figure out if one pump fits both.
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 6, 2025, 1:28 PM
Both of those machines fall squarely in the application range for this pump. The X20 420 Series covers crawler dozers and mini excavators, along with loader backhoes, articulated haulers, concrete and asphalt pavers, feller/bunchers, and a good number of other mobile and off-road platforms. The 4.88 CID displacement and open circuit piston design are aimed at mobile hydraulic work where pressure and flow demands shift fast during a duty cycle. So yeah, both pieces of equipment you mentioned are covered.

I'm looking at using this on a concrete paver – is it a good fit?

Its versatility across mobile and off-road applications definitely makes it worth considering. The Danfoss / Eaton 4.88 CID Pump is used on concrete and asphalt pavers, among other equipment types, so it should be suitable for your needs, assuming your pressure and flow requirements match up.
