Danfoss / Eaton-4.88 CID(80CC)420 Code C

Description & Features

Designed for demanding mobile hydraulic applications, the Danfoss / Eaton-4.88 CID(80CC)420 Code C is an open circuit axial piston pump built around the 420 Series platform from Danfoss Power Solutions. With an 80 cc displacement, it delivers high pressure and flow capacity suited to heavy-duty mobile equipment including loader backhoes, agriculture tractors, crawler dozers, mini excavators, and articulated haulers.

The 420 Series is also well matched to specialty equipment such as vibratory cable plows, tunnel boring machinery, container handling cranes, concrete and asphalt pavers, and utility boom trucks. Advanced control options support efficient power management across variable load conditions, while fast response and recovery times make it a practical choice where hydraulic system reaction speed matters. At 5.75 inches wide, the unit is compact enough to fit within the space constraints typical of mobile platforms.

Question by: Rusty M on May 9, 2025, 2:59 PM
Got a mini excavator that keeps bogging down under load, would the 80cc displacement on this pump be enough to keep up with that kind of demand?
Answer by: Customer Support on May 10, 2025, 3:07 PM
For mini excavators running heavy cycles, 80cc is a solid displacement for open circuit work. The 420 Series is actually listed specifically for mini excavators, and the high pressure and flow capacity it carries is built around exactly that kind of variable load condition. The fast response and recovery times help a lot when the system is getting hammered repeatedly, since the pump gets back up to pressure quicker between demand spikes.
