Danfoss / Eaton-2.50 CID(41CC)420 Code C

Description & Features

Designed for demanding mobile hydraulic applications, the Danfoss / Eaton-2.50 CID(41CC)420 Code C is an open circuit axial piston pump built around the 420 Series platform from Danfoss Power Solutions. With a displacement of 2.50 CID (41 cc), it is well suited for equipment that requires reliable high-pressure output and responsive flow control across variable load conditions.

Advanced control options support increased system efficiency, while the pump's high pressure and flow capacity make it a practical fit for a wide range of mobile machinery. Documented applications include loader backhoes, agriculture tractors, crawler dozers, mini excavators, concrete and asphalt pavers, vibratory cable plows, mining machinery and tunnel boring equipment, container handling equipment, and utility boom trucks, among others. The 5.75-inch width reflects the compact envelope typical of this displacement class.

Question by: Kent B on May 5, 2025, 11:17 AM
Got a mini excavator that's been chewing through pumps and I need something that'll hold up under real load. This 420 series from Danfoss, is it actually built for that kind of work or is it more of a light-duty unit?
Answer by: Customer Support on May 7, 2025, 6:30 AM
Mini excavators are actually one of the documented applications for this pump, so it's not a stretch at all. The 420 Series platform is rated for high pressure and high flow, which means it can handle the kind of sustained demand that wears out lighter pumps. The 2.50 CID displacement puts it in a practical range for equipment in that class, and the advanced control options help manage efficiency under variable load conditions rather than just pushing through them. It's an open circuit axial piston design, so the response and recovery behavior is going to feel more precise than what you'd get out of a gear pump setup.

Reckon this pump could handle the hydraulics on my old tractor's loader? It's been giving me fits.
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 6, 2025, 6:37 AM
For loader backhoes and agriculture tractors, this open circuit piston pump is designed to provide reliable high-pressure output, even when load conditions vary.
