Danfoss / Eaton-4.88 CID(80CC)420 Code B

Description & Features

Designed for demanding mobile hydraulic applications, the Danfoss / Eaton-4.88 CID(80CC)420 Code B is an open circuit axial piston pump from the 420 Series, rated at 80cc displacement. It delivers high pressure and flow capacity suited to heavy-duty mobile equipment including loader backhoes, crawler dozers, mini excavators, articulated haulers, concrete and asphalt pavers, and feller/bunchers.

The 420 Series is also well matched to specialty and industrial mobile equipment such as vibratory cable plows, railroad machinery, container handling cranes, utility boom trucks, and rough terrain forklifts. Advanced control options support efficient hydraulic circuit management across variable load conditions, while the pump's response and recovery characteristics make it a practical fit for applications requiring consistent performance under dynamic demand.

Product Questions & Answers (1)

Question by: Dwight T on Mar 22, 2026, 9:05 PM
Got a mini excavator that's been eating through pumps, and I'm tryin to figure out if this 80cc unit from the 420 Series would hold up to that kind of workload. These machines run hard all day on a job site.
Answer by: Customer Support on Mar 24, 2026, 1:59 PM
Heavy daily use on excavators is exactly what this pump line was built around. The 420 Series covers mini excavators right alongside crawler dozers and articulated haulers, so the engineering accounts for that kind of sustained, high-demand cycle. The high pressure and flow capacity ratings back that up in practical terms. If your current pump has been struggling under constant load, the response and recovery characteristics on this unit are specifically noted as among the fastest available, which helps a lot when hydraulic demand spikes and drops repeatedly throughout a shift.
