Danfoss / Eaton-3.80 CID(62CC)420 Code C

Description & Features

Designed for demanding mobile hydraulic applications, the Danfoss / Eaton-3.80 CID(62CC)420 Code C is an open circuit axial piston pump built around the 420 Series platform from Danfoss Power Solutions. With a displacement of 3.80 CID (62 cc), it delivers high pressure and flow capacity suited to equipment with significant hydraulic power requirements.

This pump is well matched to a broad range of mobile machinery, including loader backhoes, agriculture tractors, crawler dozers, mini excavators, articulated haulers, vibratory cable plows, and container handling equipment, among others. It is also used in utility boom trucks, concrete and asphalt pavers, feller/bunchers, and mining and tunnel boring equipment. Advanced control options support efficient load management across these varied duty cycles, while fast response and recovery characteristics make it a practical fit for machines where hydraulic cycle times are critical.

Question by: Wayne S on Jul 5, 2025, 6:57 AM
Got a mini excavator that's been eating through pumps, and I'm trying to figure out if this 420 series unit is actually built for that kind of punishment or if it's more of a light-duty deal.
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 7, 2025, 7:28 AM
Mobile equipment like mini excavators are right in the wheelhouse for this pump. The 420 Series platform from Danfoss Power Solutions is built around high pressure and flow capacity, so it's not a light-duty unit by any stretch. It's an open circuit axial piston design, which is well suited to the kind of continuous demand cycles you'd see on an excavator working through a full shift. The fast response and recovery characteristics are specifically part of what makes it a practical fit where hydraulic cycle times matter, and that's exactly the situation on a busy excavator.

I'm looking at using this on a mini excavator. Is it a good fit for that kind of equipment?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 16, 2025, 8:52 AM
This pump is used in mini excavators, among other applications like loader backhoes and agriculture tractors.
