Question by: Stan S on Jan 16, 2026, 10:21 AM
pump's made of cast iron, does that hold up decent in high-pressure setups or is that gonna be a weak point over time?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 17, 2026, 2:13 PM
Cast iron is actually a solid choice for high-pressure vane pump housings. It handles the stresses of demanding hydraulic cycles well and contributes to a longer service life compared to lighter alloy alternatives. This pump is built specifically for high-pressure, high-speed use, so the cast iron construction is working in your favor, not against you.
Question by: Johnny H on Jan 10, 2026, 5:25 PM
Reckon this'd be alright for power steering on an older pickup?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 12, 2026, 6:41 AM
It’s commonly used in power steering applications, especially for smaller vehicles, so it should work fine.
