This steel 45° elbow Adaptall fitting adapts a DIN tube to a male BSPP connection. It features a DIN tube side with M14 x 1.5 callout and L08 size. The BSPP side features a G 1/4-19 callout and 1/4" size.

fitting's got a 45 degree angle on it -- does that mean one side points straight and the other kicks out to the side, or is it more like both ends are angled off center?

On a 45 degree elbow like this one, one end connects straight into your component and the other end exits at a 45 degree offset from that axis. So if you're running a DIN tube line that needs to change direction without a sharp 90 degree turn, this gives you that gradual redirect. The DIN tube side uses an M14 x 1.5 thread with an L08 size, and the BSPP male side comes out at G 1/4-19. The elbow itself is steel, so it holds up to the stress of angled line routing without flexing or distorting at the joint.
