fitting's got a hose barb on one end and threads on the other -- what size hose does the barb side take, and what's the thread spec on the other end?

The barb end is sized for 5/8 inch tube OD hose. The threaded end is a 7/8-14 male SAE O-ring boss, built to SAE J514 spec. So you're looking at a straight steel fitting that bridges a barbed hose connection on one side to an ORB port on the other.
