4CKD90 Series Single Pilot Operated Cartridge Check Valve, 25:1 Pilot Ratio, Nitrile Seals

Description & Features

This Eaton Char-Lynn 4CKD90 Series Single Pilot Operated Cartridge Check Valve offers reliable load holding for hydraulic circuits. Designed with nitrile seals, it provides free flow in one direction and blocks reverse flow until pilot pressure is applied.

This cartridge valve is effective in clamping circuits, intensifiers, and applications with high load-induced pressures. The decompression feature allows controlled pressure decay, reducing hydraulic noise and instability. It has a 25:1 pilot ratio decompression stage, and a 3:1 main stage pilot ratio. The 4CKD90 Series Single Pilot Operated Cartridge Check Valve is rated to 5000 PSI on ports 2 & 3, and 6000 PSI on cylinder port 1, with a 24 GPM flow rating.

Product Questions & Answers (3)

Question by: Hank F on Sep 4, 2025, 6:35 PM
what's the pilot ratio on this valve, and does that 25:1 figure apply to both stages or just the decompression side?
Answer by: Customer Support on Sep 6, 2025, 9:29 AM
The 25:1 ratio applies specifically to the decompression stage. The main stage runs a 3:1 pilot ratio. That two-stage setup is what lets locked-in pressure bleed down in a controlled way before the main stage opens, which cuts down on the pressure spikes and noise you'd otherwise get from a sudden release.
Question by: Dustin H on Jul 24, 2025, 11:56 AM
got a cylinder that creeps when the control valve’s in neutral. is this the kind of lock valve that’ll hold it put till i send pilot pressure?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 25, 2025, 5:54 PM
Built for load holding, a pilot operated check like the 4CKD90 lets oil flow freely toward the cylinder, then blocks reverse flow so the cylinder stays locked when the control valve is centered. When you apply pilot pressure, it unlocks so the load can move again, which is why these are commonly used to prevent movement when the pressure source is inactive.

What size housing do I need for this cartridge valve?
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 28, 2025, 7:57 AM
This 4CKD90 cartridge valve fits a Cavity Size A12336 housing. You'll need to order that separately.
