The 4CKKT Series Dual Pilot Operated Cartridge Check Valve With Thermal Relief, 4000.00 PSI Pressure Setting, 3:1 Pilot Ratio is a Danfoss Hydraulics product rated to 4,350 psi maximum with a 6.6 gpm flow capacity and a -22° to +194°F operating temperature range. It features a hardened and ground poppet for positive sealing and extended service life, with nitrile seals as standard.

The dual pilot operated design allows free flow to a cylinder while blocking reverse flow until pilot pressure is applied, effectively holding a load in position without leakage when the control valve is in neutral. A 3:1 pilot ratio unlocks the circuit at 25% of locked pressure for single-acting cylinders. Internal leakage is rated at 5 drops per minute maximum between ports 1 and 2. Installation requires a machined C-10-4 cavity, torqued to 22 ft-lbs. Recommended filtration is ISO level 18/13 or better. Housings with pressures over 3,000 psi require steel construction.

Will this cartridge valve work alright in a hydraulic integrated circuit?

Cartridge construction definitely makes this valve suitable for installation in hydraulic integrated circuits, as well as manifold blocks and actuators. It does require a C-10-4 cavity, so make sure that's compatible.

got a cylinder that likes to creep when the control valve is in neutral. is this the kind of valve that’ll hold it still?

For load holding, a dual pilot operated check valve like the 4CKKT is commonly used to lock and hold a cylinder or other actuator in position. It lets flow go one direction with low pressure drop, then blocks reverse flow until pilot pressure is applied to unlock the circuit.

what's the pilot ratio on this valve and does that affect how much pressure I need to unlock it?

The pilot ratio is 3:1, and yes, it directly affects your unlocking pressure math. For a single acting cylinder, you need roughly 25% of the locked load pressure in the pilot circuit to release it. Double acting setups are a bit more involved since you have to account for both the blind end and rod end areas, but the 3:1 ratio factors into those calculations the same way. At 4000 psi thermal relief setting, knowing your pilot requirements ahead of time keeps you from undersizing your control circuit.
