Product Questions & Answers (1)
Question by: Shane J on Mar 11, 2026, 3:41 PM
does the dura-kote plating on this fitting hold up when its exposed to moisture and grime regular-like, or is that more of a light duty coating?
Answer by: Customer Support on Mar 12, 2026, 4:10 PM
Dura-Kote is built specifically for corrosion resistance in harsh environments, so exposure to moisture and grime is exactly what it's rated to handle. Carbon steel on its own would rust out pretty quick in tough conditions, but the plating gives it a meaningful layer of protection that extends the service life of the whole hose assembly. It's not a decorative finish, it's a functional one engineered to keep the fitting performing in the kind of environments where these systems actually run.
