fitting says it's got Dura-Kote plating on it, how well does that hold up against rust and corrosion out in the field?

Carbon steel fittings without a decent surface treatment can rust out faster than you'd like, especially in wet or dirty environments. The Dura-Kote plating on this one is specifically there to push back against that.
