does the Dura-Kote plating on this fitting actually hold up in wet or muddy conditions, or is that more of a marketing thing?

Dura-Kote is a real corrosion-resistant finish, not just a label. On carbon steel fittings like this one, bare metal would rust out pretty fast when exposed to moisture, grime, and the general mess that comes with field use. The plating is specifically there to extend the life of the hose assembly, so in environments where things get wet or dirty on a regular basis, it makes a genuine difference compared to an uncoated fitting.

trying to swap out an elbow fitting on a -10 hose, is this one a 45 degree with a female JIC swivel?
