Question by: Rod W on Apr 17, 2025, 2:19 PM
fitting's got Dura-Kote on it, how well does that actually hold up when it's exposed to moisture or rough conditions out in the field?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 18, 2025, 2:52 PM
Carbon steel fittings without any coating tend to rust out pretty fast in wet or dirty environments, but the Dura-Kote plating on this one is specifically there to fight that. It gives the fitting a solid layer of corrosion resistance, which matters a lot when you're running hose assemblies somewhere they're gonna see moisture, grime, or general abuse on a regular basis. It's one of the reasons this fitting gets used in demanding industrial setups where downtime from a corroded connection just isn't acceptable.
Question by: Chad G on Jun 16, 2025, 3:44 PM
got a -4 hose and need a female JIC 37 on one end. is this the right fitting?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jun 18, 2025, 10:44 AM
It matches a -4 line, hose, or tube on one side and a JIC 37 degree female connection on the other. The JIC end is listed at 0.4375 inch, so it is meant to land on that size JIC 37 connection.
Question by: Cindy M on Nov 5, 2025, 2:04 PM
So this fitting's made of carbon steel. How well does it hold up outside, you reckon?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 6, 2025, 5:34 PM
Dura-Kote plating gives it some serious corrosion resistance. It should hold up pretty well even in tougher environments.
