rated for 2,000 psi dynamic pressure -- that enough for most standard hydraulic line work or is this more of a light-duty fitting?

For the majority of standard hydraulic hydraulic connections applications, 2,000 psi dynamic pressure handles the load just fine. This is a straight union fitting with dual female NPTF threads on both ends, so it's built for connecting two male-threaded lines in a fixed, inline configuration. As long as your system stays at or below that 2,000 psi threshold, you're in good shape for regular industrial hydraulic use.
