The 5100 Series Low Spill Connect Under Pressure Quick Disconnect Male Half -24 Coupling 1-1/2-11-1/2 Female Pipe is designed for efficient fluid transfer in demanding hydraulic applications. It is particularly suited for on-highway hydraulic wet lines dump and refuse vehicles and bulk liquid transfer operations.

The tubular valve construction minimizes fluid loss during disconnection reducing environmental and safety risks. Additionally the low air inclusion feature during connection maintains system performance standards.

Available in both wing and hex nut configurations the coupling offers versatility and ease of installation. The capability to connect against pressure up to 500 psi enhances its utility in high-pressure environments. This coupling also features a steel flange for accessible bulkhead mounting.

Standard materials include brass with steel valving components and nuts ensuring durability and reliability. Seal material options include Buna-N Vitonreg; and EPR. The coupling supports a wide range of temperatures from a minimum of -40 degrees Celsius.

Is this the right male end to hook up to a 5100 series female fitting? Gotta make sure before I order.

This male half coupling is indeed part of the 5100 series and will connect to a corresponding female half. Just verify the coupling size (-24) and female pipe thread (1-1/2-11-1/2) match your existing setup.

can this coupling connect while there's still pressure in the line, or do you have to bleed the system down first?

Up to 500 psi, you can connect it without depressurizing the line first. That's one of the main reasons this fitting gets used on dump trucks and refuse vehicles where stopping to bleed pressure out of a wet line just isn't practical. The tubular valve design also keeps fluid loss minimal when you disconnect, so you're not dealing with a spill every time you break the connection.
