both sides on this fitting are M36 X 2.0 DIN tube, so it's connecting same-size lines at a 90, right?

Correct on both counts. The male side and the female DIN tube connection share the same M36 X 2.0 thread spec, and the fitting turns the line at a 90 degree angle. That makes it a straight-size elbow, not a reducer, so whatever you're connecting on each end needs to match that M36 X 2.0 DIN tube standard.
