Will this fitting work for hooking up a half-inch line to a three-quarter inch port?

This hex nipple features a 1/2-14 male NPTF thread on one end and a 3/4-14 male NPTF thread on the other, following SAE J476 specifications. That should let you adapt between those sizes.
