got a 1/2-14 male nptf line and need to bump it up to 3/4-14 female nptf. is that what this expander does

Function-wise, it is a straight expander with a 1/2-14 male NPTF on one end (B1) and a 3/4-14 female NPTF on the other end (B2), both to SAE J476.

So this thing's got different size threads on each end, right? Just wanna make sure I'm understanding that correctly before I order.

That's correct. This expander has a male NPTF connection that's 1/2-14 and a female NPTF connection that's 3/4-14.
