got an o-ring groove cut for a 2-1/4 ID and 2-1/2 OD, is this the right size or am i gonna be fighting it

trying to swap out an old A-228 o-ring, is this the same size?

Is this o-ring likely to fit if my old one measures about 2 1/2 inches across the outside?
