STAUFF FI-VD-15L-B-W3-M

Description & Features

Designed for monitoring filter element condition in hydraulic fluid power systems, the Stauff FI-VD-15L-B-W3-M is a differential pressure filter indicator from Stauff Corporation's FI-VD series. Units in this series are typically mounted to compatible hydraulic filter housings and provide indication, visual, electrical, or combined, of when a filter element has reached its service interval and requires attention.

The "15L" designation references a specific housing size or flow range within the FI-VD product family, while the remaining suffix characters identify configuration details such as indicator type and connection variant. As with other Stauff filter indicators, this unit is suited for industrial fluid power applications where reliable differential pressure monitoring is required to maintain system cleanliness and filter service schedules.

what’s this FI-VD-15L-B-W3-M actually do in a hydraulic system?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 21, 2025, 11:55 AM
In a hydraulic fluid power setup, it monitors differential pressure across a filter element so you can tell when the element has reached its service interval and needs attention.

what exactly does this indicator do on a hydraulic filter setup? trying to figure out if it just tells you when to change the element or if it does something more
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 24, 2025, 11:46 AM
Monitors the pressure difference across the filter element and signals when that element has loaded up enough to need changing. Once the differential pressure hits the service threshold, the indicator trips so you know it's time to pull and replace the element. It won't take any action on its own, but it keeps you from guessing on service intervals or running a clogged element longer than you should.

Is this the right indicator for a 15L Stauff filter housing? Just want to make sure before I order.
Answer by: Customer Support on Aug 3, 2025, 5:48 PM
The "15L" in the name STAUFF FI-VD-15L-B-W3-M does indicate that it's designed to be compatible with a specific housing size or flow range within the FI-VD product family, so it should be the correct indicator, assuming your housing is part of that range.
