Got a line running JIC on one end and ORB on the other, does this fitting bridge that gap straight through without needing an adapter in between?

That's what it's built for. One end is a male JIC SAE 37-degree flare at 7/16-20, and the other is a male SAE O-ring boss at 3/4-16. Both ends conform to SAE J514, so you're getting a direct straight connection between those two thread types with no additional hardware needed.
