What kind of connection does this adapter go between, and will it work with standard hydraulic fittings on a steel line?

One end is a 1-1/16-12 male SAE O-ring boss, which follows SAE J514 spec, and the other end steps down to a 3/8-18 male NPTF thread per SAE J476. Both of those are common thread standards in hydraulic and fluid power systems, so if your ports match those sizes and types, it should fit right in without any adapting beyond what this piece already does.
