Question by: Lynn R on May 26, 2025, 7:01 AM
I'm swapping out some fittings on my old tractor. Will this straight fitting work with standard JIC connections?
Answer by: Customer Support on May 27, 2025, 3:44 PM
This fitting uses a Female JIC Swivel 37 Degree Flare thread, so it should be compatible with other standard JIC connections that size.
Question by: Rod P on Jun 6, 2025, 1:13 PM
what thread types am i working with on this fitting, the male end and the female end both?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jun 8, 2025, 6:50 AM
The male side is a 9/16-18 SAE O-Ring Boss, and the female side is a 7/16-20 JIC Swivel with a 37 degree flare. Both threads meet SAE J514 spec, so you've got a standardized connection on each end. The O-ring seal is NBR material, which handles the male ORB side and keeps things leak-resistant without needing extra sealant tape or compound on that end.

got a hose end that’s 7/16-20 JIC swivel, will this straight adapter mate up to it and still seal right
Answer by: Customer Support on Mar 2, 2026, 2:43 PM
On the JIC side, you are looking at a female JIC swivel 37 degree flare with 7/16-20 threads, built to SAE J514. That mates with a matching 37 degree JIC male flare and seals on the flare, not on the threads.
