trying to hook a #8 male JIC line into a #12 female JIC swivel, but i need a 90. is that what this fitting is?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jun 1, 2025, 6:18 AM
For a 90 degree turn between those two JIC sizes, this adapter matches that setup. It is a forged steel 37 degree flare union elbow with a 3/4-16 male JIC (SAE J514) on one end and a 1-1/16-12 female JIC swivel (SAE J514) on the other.
Question by: Clint E on Sep 16, 2025, 5:31 PM
So, will this here fitting work with standard JIC connections?
Answer by: Customer Support on Sep 18, 2025, 6:15 AM
It sure will. This elbow is made with both male and female JIC 37-degree flare threads that meet SAE J514 specs, so it'll play nice with other standard JIC fittings.
Question by: Gary W on Aug 17, 2025, 1:12 PM
fitting says #8 male and #12 female -- does that mean the two ends are different sizes from each other?
Answer by: Customer Support on Aug 19, 2025, 9:59 AM
they're two different thread sizes. The male JIC end is 3/4-16 and the female swivel end is 1-1/16-12. That size difference is actually the whole point of this fitting. It lets you connect a smaller #8 line to a larger #12 port without needing an extra reducer in the middle. Both ends follow SAE J514 spec, so they'll mate up correctly with standard JIC components on either side.

trying to replace an elbow i busted, is this one male jic on one end and a female swivel on the other?
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 12, 2025, 6:39 AM
On the connection side, it is a 90 degree elbow with a #8 male JIC SAE 37 degree flare on one end and a #12 female JIC swivel 37 degree flare on the other. Both ends are called out to SAE J514.
