thread on the male end is NPTF, not NPT, does that matter for which ports it'll fit into?

NPTF and NPT share the same thread dimensions, so the 1/2-14 male end will thread into a standard NPT port without issue. The difference is in how they seal. NPTF threads are machined to tighter tolerances so the threads themselves can form a pressure-tight seal through metal-to-metal contact. NPT ports typically rely on tape or thread sealant to get there. Either way, the physical fit works fine.
