Is this somethin' I can just screw right in, or do I need some kinda special tools for the threads?

This adapter uses SAE J476 compliant Female NPTF threads on one end and SAE J514 compliant Female JIC Swivel 37 Degree Flare threads on the other, so standard tools for those fittings should work fine.
