Both ends on this thing are female JIC swivel, so what exactly is it hooking two of together, two hose ends, two male fittings, something else?

Female JIC swivel fittings mate onto male JIC threaded ends, so this straight fitting connects two male JIC ports or male-terminated hose assemblies. Both ends carry a 37-degree flare seat and a 1-5/16-12 thread size, which is a -16 JIC size. The swivel feature on each end lets you rotate the fitting during installation without twisting the hoses, which saves a lot of headache when you're working in tight spots or threading into fixed ports from both sides.

trying to swap out a straight JIC swivel, is this one female on both ends and 1-5/16-12?
