Question by: Roy J on Jul 26, 2025, 11:05 AM
both threads on this thing are 7/16-20, does that mean it's the same size on both ends even though one's JIC and one's O-ring boss?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 27, 2025, 3:09 PM
Correct on the sizing. Both ports are 7/16-20, but the thread types are different by design. One end is a male JIC SAE 37-degree flare, and the other is a male SAE adjustable O-ring boss. Same thread pitch and diameter, different sealing methods. The JIC end seals on the flare angle, while the O-ring boss end uses the NBR O-ring that comes with the fitting. That combination is exactly the point of this elbow, letting you transition between those two connection styles at a 90-degree angle without needing an adapter stack.

i’ve got a hose end that’s 7/16-20 JIC, will this elbow mate up right or am i mixing standards
Answer by: Customer Support on Oct 20, 2025, 10:10 AM
Thread B1 on this fitting is a male JIC SAE 37 degree flare in 7/16-20, built to SAE J514. If your hose end is a matching 7/16-20 JIC female flare, that side is the correct style and thread size to pair up.

Is this elbow made of steel or somethin else?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 23, 2025, 7:43 AM
It is indeed made from steel forging, so it should hold up well in industrial settings.
