fitting's got a 7/8-14 JIC end and I need to hook into a 1-5/16-12 ORB port, this the right part for that?

That's what this elbow is built for. One end is a male JIC 37-degree flare at 7/8-14, and the other is a male SAE adjustable O-ring boss at 1-5/16-12. Both threads are SAE J514 compliant, so if your port and your line match those sizes, this fitting connects them at a 90-degree angle without any adapters in between.
