both ends on this are 1/4 inch NPTF female, right? just want to make sure before i order

Correct on both counts. Each end is 1/4 inch NPTF female, so you're getting a female-to-female configuration throughout. That NPTF thread form gives you a pressure-tight mechanical seal without relying on sealant tape alone, which makes a real difference in hydraulic drain applications where even a slow weep is a problem.
