Question by: Travis L on Apr 23, 2025, 1:38 PM
This fitting's got "brass" in the name but I wanna make sure, is it actually gonna hold up against rust and corrosion in a fluid system, or is that just the material and not really a durability claim?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 25, 2025, 8:06 AM
Brass as a material genuinely does offer solid corrosion resistance across a wide range of industrial fluids, so that's not just a label. It's one of the main reasons brass fittings get chosen over steel in a lot of fluid system applications. That said, the specific fluids in your setup matter, so if you're running something aggressive or highly acidic, brass may or may not be the right call depending on concentration and exposure. For standard hydraulic and industrial fluid service, though, brass holds up well and leak-resistant threaded connections are exactly what this fitting is built around.

Wondering if this fitting will hold up okay with hydraulic oil? I'm not seeing much in the description.

Brass offers decent corrosion resistance and should be compatible with many common hydraulic fluids. It's always a good idea to double-check compatibility against your specific fluid and system pressure.
