Question by: Cheryl B on Jun 2, 2025, 11:25 AM
What fluids is this o-ring actually rated to hold up against? Got some hydraulic equipment that sees a mix of oil and water pretty regular.
Answer by: Customer Support on Jun 4, 2025, 6:30 AM
Buna-N is one of the better elastomers for exactly that kind of environment. It handles petroleum-based oils, water, and a range of common hydraulic fluids without breaking down quickly. The 70 durometer hardness gives it enough firmness to maintain a good seal under pressure without being so stiff it won't seat right. Just keep in mind the temperature window runs from -40°F up to 240°F, so as long as your system stays inside that range, you should be in good shape.
