got an old -131 o-ring here, is this the right dash size replacement or am i off a bit
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 16, 2025, 1:35 PM
Match-up wise, this one is dash size -131 and cross references to supplier part 568-131. The nominal size is 1-11/16 inch ID with a 3/32 inch nominal width, and the actual measurements are about 1.674 inch ID and 0.103 inch width.
Question by: Brent B on Sep 1, 2025, 8:27 PM
what's the actual ID on this thing? the nominal says 1-11/16 but i need the exact number before i order
Answer by: Customer Support on Sep 3, 2025, 4:29 PM
Actual inside diameter comes in at 1.674 inches. The nominal 1-11/16 is just the catalog reference size, so when you're fitting this to a bore or shaft, 1.674 is the number to work with. Outside diameter runs 1.880 inches actual, and the cross-section width is 0.103 inches.
Question by: Shawn M on Dec 19, 2025, 4:16 PM
these run from negative 40 up to 240 degrees fahrenheit?
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 21, 2025, 6:42 AM
that's the full range for this Buna-N compound. At 70 durometer it holds up well across that span without getting brittle on the cold end or going soft when things heat up. For most hydraulic and general fluid system applications that range covers just about everything you'd run into day to day.
Question by: Ray W on Aug 7, 2025, 2:34 PM
Will this o-ring hold up to hydraulic fluid, or do I need a different material?
Answer by: Customer Support on Aug 9, 2025, 7:07 AM
Buna-N is a good choice for hydraulic applications, as it offers decent resistance to petroleum-based fluids. Just make sure your system stays within the -40°F to 240°F temperature range that this o-ring is rated for.
