The 7000 Series Ermeto Steel Flareless Fitting 0.19 Inch Tube OD Small Hex Union is designed for seamless integration in hydraulic instrumentation and chemical processing systems. This fitting suitable for high-pressure environments offers exceptional durability and resistance to vibration.

Constructed from AISI/SAE 12L14 carbon steel it features a unique Weathercotereg; finish that provides full resistance to nonflammable hydraulic fluids. The fitting operates effectively within a temperature range of -65deg;F to +400deg;F at maximum pressures and has been tested to withstand conditions up to 800deg;F and pressures between 1000 psi to 4000 psi depending on tube size.

Featuring a broad selection of sizes and styles the fitting conforms to ASA ASME and SAE specifications and standards. It is specifically designed to work with aluminum hard or half copper steel stainless steel and extra heavy wall tubing that cannot be flared. The no-tube-flaring requirement simplifies installation making it an excellent high-pressure fitting option.

Will this fitting work with stainless steel tubing, or is it just for the softer stuff?

It's designed to handle stainless steel tubing, along with aluminum, hard or half copper, steel, and extra-heavy wall tubing. The key is that it works with tubing that can't be flared.

what kind of tubing does this union work with, and does it have to be flared first?

No flaring needed at all, which is one of the main reasons folks reach for this fitting. It works with aluminum, hard or half copper, steel, stainless steel, and extra heavy wall tubing that can't be flared. That last category is worth noting since extra heavy wall tubing often can't be flared without cracking, so a flareless design like this one is pretty much the only practical option for those situations.
