Question by: Chad G on Apr 13, 2025, 7:18 AM
what's the coating on this fitting, and will it hold up running outdoors where moisture gets to it pretty regular?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 15, 2025, 6:40 AM
Dura-Kote plating is applied to the carbon steel body, and that finish is specifically built for corrosion resistance in tough environments. Regular moisture exposure is exactly the kind of wear it's meant to stand up against. The zinc color you see isn't just cosmetic either, it adds another layer of protection on top of the plating. For outdoor industrial use with frequent humidity or wetness, this fitting holds its own better than bare steel hardware would.
Question by: Neil H on Jan 17, 2026, 7:37 PM
So, this fitting has that Dura-Kote plating, right? How much better is that for rust compared to, say, a regular zinc coating?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 19, 2026, 6:49 AM
Dura-Kote plating gives you way better corrosion resistance than standard zinc. It's made to hold up longer in tough conditions.
