DANFOSS / EATON PISTON MOTOR 2.48

Description & Features

Designed for medium-duty mobile hydraulic applications, the Danfoss / Eaton Piston Motor 2.48 is a fixed axial-piston motor built for consistent performance across demanding equipment types. Cast iron construction provides durability in working environments such as harvesters, log skidders, sprayers, lift trucks, scissor lifts, fan drives, and lawn tractors.

The motor delivers a torque rating of 226.27 Nm and supports flow rates up to 175.71 litres per minute. A through-drive option allows flexible configuration in multi-motor setups, and the design supports straightforward serviceability in the field. Advanced internal design features contribute to reliable operation across variable load conditions common in mobile equipment.

Manufactured under the Eaton Char-Lynn brand, now part of Danfoss Power Solutions, this motor is part of the HS MP Fixed Axial-Piston Motor series.

Question by: Ross M on Aug 10, 2025, 2:48 PM
Will this motor work for a log skidder application?
Answer by: Customer Support on Aug 11, 2025, 8:07 PM
It's applicable for log skidders, yes, along with harvesters, sprayers, fan drives, and bark removers.
Question by: Cody W on May 22, 2025, 6:54 AM
torque rating on this unit is listed at 226 newton metres -- is that enough grunt for running hydraulic fan drives on bigger equipment?
Answer by: Customer Support on May 23, 2025, 7:29 PM
For fan drive applications, 226.27 Nm is a solid amount of output torque and fits well within what medium duty fixed piston motors are typically asked to deliver in that role. This motor is specifically listed for fan drives as one of its named applications, so the rating lines up with real-world demand in that use case. Flow capacity comes in at 175.71 liters per minute, which gives it enough throughput to keep pace with the demands of larger cooling systems without starving the circuit.
