got two hoses with BSPP male ends already on em. is 9000-10-06 the piece that just joins em together?

what exactly is this fitting doing, is it connecting two male BSPP ends together or is it more of a reducer type deal?

Both ends on this one are male BSPP, same thread type on each side, so it's a straight adapter meant to join two female BSPP ports together. No size change, no thread conversion. If you've got two female-threaded BSPP connections that need to be bridged, this is the piece that does it.
