Bspp Male X Bspt Male Nipple

Description & Features

Constructed from steel, this straight male-to-male nipple connects a G 1/4 BSPP thread on one end to an R 3/8 BSPT thread on the other, making it a practical solution for adapting between the two most common British thread standards in hydraulic and industrial fluid systems. The parallel BSPP side seals on a bonded washer or O-ring face, while the tapered BSPT side seals on thread engagement, an important distinction when specifying fittings for mixed-thread assemblies.

The BSPP Male X Bspt Male Nipple is manufactured by Adaptall and measures 32.6mm in length with a 19mm CH (across flats) wrench flat, keeping the overall footprint compact for use in tight installations. The straight configuration allows for direct in-line connection without angular offset.

Question by: Merle G on Apr 18, 2025, 8:48 PM
got a piece of equipment with a G 1/4 port on one side and a 3/8 BSPT fitting on the other -- will this nipple bridge those two without needing extra adapters in between?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 20, 2025, 6:08 AM
That's exactly what it's built for. One end is G 1/4 BSPP male, the other is R 3/8 BSPT male, so it connects those two thread types directly in a single piece. No stacking adapters, no extra length added to the assembly. Just keep in mind the two ends seal differently. The BSPP side relies on a bonded washer or O-ring face seal at the port, while the BSPT side seals on thread engagement itself. Make sure both mating ports are set up accordingly before you torque it down.

Will this fitting work to connect a 1/4" BSPP to a 3/8" BSPT line? Just wanna make sure before I order.
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 24, 2025, 8:48 PM
That's exactly what this nipple is designed for. It adapts between those two different British thread types, with the parallel BSPP side sealing against a washer and the tapered BSPT side sealing on the threads themselves.

got a valve with a G 1/4 port and the line side is R 3/8, is this the right little adapter nipple for that?
Answer by: Customer Support on Aug 15, 2025, 6:30 AM
For tying those two British thread standards together, it matches up as a straight steel male to male nipple with G 1/4 BSPP on one end and R 3/8 BSPT on the other.
