Question by: Roy M on Dec 29, 2025, 3:00 PM
trying to connect a JIC line to a BSPP port and keep running into leaks with other fittings. this one use some kind of seal built in or is it just metal-to-metal?
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 31, 2025, 9:35 AM
The elastomeric seal is built right into the fitting, so you get a proper sealed connection between the JIC side and the BSPP port without relying on metal-to-metal contact alone. That seal is what sets this version apart from a standard adapter and is specifically what addresses the leak problems that come up when bridging those two thread types. The JIC end runs 9/16-18 UNF male and the BSPP end is G 1/2-14 male, so as long as your ports match up, the sealing is handled by the fitting itself.
