Manufactured from steel in a straight configuration, this adapter connects a 5/16" JIC male fitting (1/2-20 UNF thread) on one end to a 3/8" BSPT male fitting (R 3/8-19 thread) on the opposite end. The Male JIC x Male BSPT design makes it a practical solution for linking hydraulic circuits where JIC and British Standard Pipe Taper thread standards meet on the same line.

trying to hook a 5/16 jic male line to a 3/8 bspt port, is this the right adapter or am i mixin threads up

For cross-thread hookups like that, this adapter is the straight steel piece that bridges a 5/16 inch JIC male with 1/2-20 UNF threads on one end to a 3/8 inch BSPT male with R 3/8-19 threads on the other.

Got a line running JIC on one end and the other end's got British pipe taper threads, will this thing bridge that gap straight across?

One end is a 5/16" JIC male (1/2-20 UNF thread) and the other is a 3/8" BSPT male (R 3/8-19 thread), so it connects those two thread standards directly in a straight configuration.
