trying to hook up a line with R 1 - 11 on it. is this the adapter that goes from that to a G 1/2 - 14 female?

On the thread ends, it matches what you described. Side 1 is a 1 inch BSPT male with an R 1 - 11 callout, and Side 2 is a 1/2 inch BSPP female with a G 1/2 - 14 callout.

That's what this one does. One end is a 1 inch male BSPT thread, marked R 1-11, and the other is a 1/2 inch female BSPP, marked G 1/2-14.
