got a hose end that’s G 3/8-19 and the port is R 3/8-19. is this the elbow that bridges those two?

It’s a 90 degree elbow with a male 3/8 inch BSPP on one side and a male 3/8 inch BSPT on the other. Side 1 is called out as G 3/8 - 19 and Side 2 is R 3/8 - 19, so it matches those thread callouts.

both sides on this fitting are male, right? trying to make sure I got the right part before I pull the trigger on ordering

Correct on both counts. Side 1 is a male 3/8" BSPP (G 3/8-19) and Side 2 is a male 3/8" BSPT (R 3/8-19). So if your application calls for connecting a BSPP port to a BSPT port at a 90 degree angle, this fitting handles that without needing any additional adapters in between.
