got a line running JIC on one end and BSPP on the other, does this fitting bridge those two thread types at a 45 degree angle?

That's what it does. One side is a 3/4-16 UNF male JIC (1/2" size) and the other is a G 3/8-19 male BSPP (3/8" size), and the whole thing sits at a 45 degree bend. So if you're routing a line between a JIC port and a BSPP port and need to change direction a bit, this handles both the thread conversion and the angle in one piece.
