trying to hook a 1-1/4 jic hose end to a 1-1/4 bspt port, and i need a 90. is this the right elbow?

For that setup, it matches a 1-1/4 inch Male JIC on one end with 1-5/8-12 UN threads, and a 1-1/4 inch Male BSPT on the other end with R 1-1/4-11 threads, in a 90 degree elbow. Since both ends are male, it’s meant to thread into the corresponding female JIC and female BSPT connections.

Both sides on this thing are male, so what exactly am I supposed to be connecting it to on each end?

Each side threads into a corresponding female port. The JIC side needs a 1-1/4" female JIC port with a 1-5/8-12 UN thread, and the BSPT side needs a 1-1/4" female BSPT port with an R 1-1/4-11 thread. Before you go to install it, just make sure both mating ports are female, since there's no built-in flexibility there. It's a common setup when you're bridging JIC hydraulic lines over to equipment that uses BSPT porting.
