What’s the deal with BSPP vs NPT, and why do I need an adapter?

These are different thread types commonly used in hydraulic systems. BSPP is British Standard Parallel Pipe, while NPT is National Pipe Tapered. This adapter lets you connect the two.

trying to swap a fitting on a hose, is this the elbow that goes from G 3/8-19 to 3/8-18 NPTF, both male?

Got a piece of equipment running BSPP fittings and I need to tie it into an NPT line at a right angle. This the right part for that?
