got a 7/8-14 UNF male JIC fitting on one end of my line and need to tie into a metric DIN tube port at M22 x 1.5, this the right piece for that?

That's what this adapter is built for. One end is a male JIC at 7/8-14 UNF with a 5/8" size, and the other is a female DIN tube connection at M22 x 1.5 in the L15 series. Steel construction, straight configuration, so it drops right in between those two connection types without needing any thread sealant or extra hardware to make it work.
