Bonded Seal For British Thread

Description & Features

This steel composition bonded seal is specifically engineered for British Thread applications. It is a precision component known for its reliability in various industry settings, designed to address sealing requirements in high-pressure environments.

Designed by Adaptall America, it features a G 5/8 - 14 callout on side 1, ensuring compatibility with standard BSPP fittings. With a width of 32mm and a length of 2.5mm, it fits neatly without requiring additional calibration or adjustment.

The bonded seal does not include additional components such as batteries, blades, or a case. It is not color-coded, machine mountable, nor does it require a mandrel for installation. The absence of a check valve, diode, electrical flag, or remote control minimizes complexity and maintenance needs.

Ideal for industrial applications, this component efficiently maintains a secure seal without the need for thread sealant. Its straightforward design ensures a robust performance over extended periods, underscoring its suitability for critical uses.

got a BSPP fitting marked G 5/8-14. is this the right bonded seal for that, or am i mixing stuff up
Answer by: Customer Support on May 20, 2025, 5:44 PM
Match it to the callout and thread type. This seal is made for British Standard Pipe Parallel connections and it has a G 5/8 - 14 callout on side 1, with a listed side 1 size of 5/8 inch, so it lines up with a standard BSPP G 5/8-14 fitting.
Question by: Stan H on Apr 20, 2025, 6:58 PM
Got a BSPP fitting that keeps weeping fluid no matter how tight I run it up. Would one of these bonded seals fix that without having to use any thread sealant tape or compound?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 22, 2025, 6:15 AM
For BSPP connections, a bonded seal is exactly what handles that problem. The G 5/8-14 callout on this one matches standard 5/8" BSPP fittings, and the steel-backed rubber construction creates a face seal that holds pressure without any tape or thread compound. Once it's seated properly, you shouldn't need anything else to stop that weep.
